The Wellesley College Music Department Concert Series welcomes Peter Westerbrink. The WC Calendar website provides this information about the performer and the program this way:
"Specializing in the lineage of organ composition and performance that emerged in northern Germany during the Baroque era, Westerbrink has acquired an outstanding reputation as a concert organist, teacher, and jury member. Performing and teaching actively throughout Europe, South America, and the United States, he also participates in radio and recordings.
Westerbrink's recital will explore the rich diversity of seventeenth-century European organ music through works by the Italian composer Bernardo Storace, the Flemish composer Peeter Cornet, the German composer Matthias Weckman, the French composer Marin Marais, and the eminent North German composer Dieterich Buxtehude, whose music stands among the most influential achievements of the Baroque era."
This recital is free and open to the general public as many of Wellesley College cultural events are. One of our members will arrive early and try to reserve a set of seats sufficient for WN members.
Please register on this event page so your name appears among the registrants and feel free to contact each other about attending together or meeting there. Judy Barr has graciously offered to be the contact member for this event so you can expect to see her at the performance.
